The origins of Db date back to 2009 and its existence is a result of a lucky coincidence. Truls Brataas, a young student who was sailing by the western coast of Norway met a Swedish skier, Jon Olsson. During their conversation, Truls and Jon discovered a mutual passion for travelling the world in epic search for skiing. They both related to the same painful luggage problems when traveling with a bunch of ski gear. The longer they talked about it, the more they realized that something is not right. And it was about time to change things! “We came to conclusion that the ski gear carrying equipment has to be redefined” says Jon, who travels 300 days a year. Brataas’ education helped him to create a functional and compact bag. He was an engineering graduate who wanted to enhance technology and develop new, innovative solutions. This is how Db was born

Truls and Jon did a research and got answers from more than 150 skiers, snowboarders and surfers. They wanted to know what they need during their travels, what kind of improvements they would like to see. To meet the needs of the demanding sportsmen, the first line of bags for active people came to life. “We tried out the first models ourselves” said Truls Brataas.
